The most challenging was to assemble the multicultural aspect of cast and crew into managing the set. Our main crew was Mexican based professionals. The cast was from different countries, some living in Mexico, many others from the US, Europe, the Caribbean and latin America.

The AD team was incredible to work out multiple activities for the large group of actors. The way the Director planned how they will integrate as a group was very important for the pacing in the shooting days. Every actor rehearse and learned to be a cook.

That was crucial for us AD’s to design the On shot scenes we had in the movie. A very complicated dance of cooks, waitresses, back of the house staff and the sound and camera crew around them.
Other importan and complicated part of it, was to shoot at NYC with some actors having difficulties getting visas to shoot there, but that gave us the opportunity to go back to shoot the opening scene a year later.

It’s important for us that we keep doing movies and telling stories that mean something to us working in them, even if we are always behind the camera our work lives in every design of the moving parts of the frame. We are like the cooks in this movie, keeping it serving. In this day and age we are obligated to let people know that behind every enjoyable moment as eating or wathching a movie there is a whole crew of professional loving to see their reaction to the frame.
